Frequently asked questions

DIWASS (Digital Waste Shipment System) is the European Union's electronic system for waste shipment procedures. It is introduced by Regulation (EU) 2024/1157, most of whose rules apply from 21 May 2026 according to the European Commission. Always check the current requirements in the official sources.

European Commission announcement on the DIWASS launch

No. DIWASS is the European Commission's official system, and Cargoleaf does not replace it. Cargoleaf is an independent software product, not affiliated with the European Commission. It helps prepare and organise information, but gives no legal guarantee of compliance.

Companies that organise or take part in cross-border waste shipments and want to organise document preparation and data checks, for example waste producers, brokers, carriers and treatment facilities.

You upload an Annex VII or notification form as a PDF. AI reads the data and fills in the fields, and doubtful values are highlighted. The data only becomes final once a person has checked and approved it.

Cargoleaf already works: AI document reading, checks and approval, shipment, document and partner management, a team with roles, the Annex VII printout and the driver link. Direct data exchange with DIWASS is planned but not available yet.
